Team Policies and Expectations

**Theses are subject to change based on our ability to gather in person**

How will parents know what is happening at school?

The best source of information and happenings at school is your child.

We also will use a team Blog to communicate with parents and students. You can subscribe to the blog to get an email whenever we post there. Access the Blog at cmscloversquad.blogspot.com

Google Classroom is also a good source to see what the student’s assignments and responsibilities are. There is a to do feature in each classroom to see what is coming up or missing work.

Daily morning announcements are also posted to the students’ email account.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

Make sure your chromebook is charged overnight.

Follow all individual classroom procedures.

Remain in your assigned seat at all times. Movement throughout the day will be teacher-directed.

Bring required materials daily.  This includes your agenda and class supplies.

Raise your hand and wait to be recognized before speaking.

Respect the rights of others.  Do nothing that could harm the classroom or any other person physically, emotionally, or educationally.

In summary, we want you to be

Respectful, Responsible, and Safe every day!

Thank you!

 CLASSROOM DISCIPLINE PROCEDURES

Consequences will be cumulative in all team classes. If you choose not to follow the team expectations, then the following consequences will take place:

  1. Verbal warning

  2. Written warning with parent signature required

  3. Meeting with team, phone call home, and morning detention

  4. Discipline report and referral to office

Severe inappropriate behavior will result in emergency removal, discipline report, and alternate consequences appropriate to the offense. Misbehavior for a substitute will result in an automatic detention.  Continued misbehavior for substitutes will result in further disciplinary action.

TEAM RETAKE POLICY

All major assessments are able to be retaken for students to show mastery of the content. Retakes will be addressed based on the specific course and nature of what is being assessed.

CLASSWORK POLICY

Classwork is a valuable aid in helping students make the most of their experience in school.  It is useful to reinforce skills and materials presented in class. Classwork is assigned consistently in math class, and several times per week in the other academic classes.  Daily review of class notes and vocabulary will help students be successful on tests and quizzes.  We expect students to do his or her best job on classwork and attempt every problem, even if they are unsure of how to do it. Computer usage will be a large part of classwork.

  • It is the student’s responsibility to make up all work after an absence, including classwork, tests, quizzes, and projects.  (Refer to the absence policy below.)

  • Google Classroom is the most accurate and current source of classwork information.

  • All work may be submitted up until  unit test then missing work turns to zero.

ABSENCE POLICY

We highly encourage students to be present at school every day. The best way to see what has been missed is through the weekly agenda summary posted on the blog and #Cloversquad classroom page.  A student who is absent is responsible to make up all work that was missed. The student will have the same number of days to make up work as the number of days absent.  (This is school board policy.) If a child is absent for three consecutive days, parents may call the school between 7:00 A.M. and 7:30 A.M. to request assignments.  Parents will then need to pick up the work after 2:35 P.M.

SCHOOL GRADING SCALE

The other category will be “assessment.” This will consist of tests, quizzes, projects or any other assignment that shows mastery. Practice will be weighted 20% of the final grade and assessments will be weighted 80% of the final grade. Students will have an opportunity to retake or correct tests/quizzes for better grades.
